Join us for a full day of exploration featuring ten historic sites, a convenient shuttle to guide you through the route, and a special sketchbook tour led by Whitney Salgado. Stop by the makers market at Concordia 27, celebrate at the beloved 43rd + Vliet Festival, and enjoy rare access to venues not usually open to the public.

Choose your route
Five special routes were designed for this year’s Doors Open in the Near West Side. The Core Trail covers all 10 featured locations plus the Urban Ecology Center at Washington Park — a valued neighbor, partner, and must-see destination. Because of the length and time it takes to experience the full Core Trail, we’ve also created themed routes tailored to different interests.
These shorter routes are pedestrian-friendly and can be enjoyed at your own pace. For the Core Trail, a free shuttle service will be available, stopping at each location to make your journey smooth and accessible.

Near West Side Shuttle
Take advantage of our free shuttle service, running from 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM, with stops at all Near West Side Doors Open sites. Sit back and enjoy the ride, or, if you prefer, grab a map and experience the route on foot at your own pace.

Shuttle Services
Add your name to the list to enjoy our complimentary shuttle service during Doors Open. There’s no need to take it as a full tour — simply hop on and hop off at the destinations you’d like to explore most. Convenient, flexible, and stress-free!
🚌 Shuttles will run 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM, making round trips across all locations approximately every 20 minutes.
